With Meghan Markle and Prince Harry due to get married next month, every jeweller is eager to know what her wedding day jewellery choices will be.
On the Day Jewellery
Meghan Markle is a fan of understated, minimalist jewellery from brands such as Birks, Zofia and Missoma, suggesting that she is likely to select jewellery which fits her modern look. Meghan has been seen wearing a stunning set of 18ct yellow gold opal and diamond earrings and the team here at Parsons thinks it’s possible she will wear these for her special day. In store we have a similar pair available retailing at £420. Yellow gold is a favourite of Ms Markle and we guess that she will be wearing this metal for the royal wedding. Meghan is also known for choosing jewellery with understated diamonds such as this matching set of yellow gold and 0.5ct carat diamond earrings and pendant.
Traditionally, the royal family uses yellow gold from welsh mines such as Cloggau for its wedding bands. However, Ms Markle may go for something with a bit more sparkle like this 14ct wedding band with rubover set diamonds or a band including pave set diamond. Meghan may also wish to go for a bespoke service to have a ring made to fit around her engagement ring, a service which Parsons also offers. The band chosen is likely to be between 2mm and 4mm to complement Meghan’s stunning engagement ring which is a three stone setting featuring a 3.5ct cushion cut diamond from Botswana as the centre stone and two 0.75ct brilliant cut diamonds from Princess Diana’s personal collection.
At Parsons Jewellers we have a few pieces of advice for choosing on-the-day jewellery and wedding bands. Your Wedding Day is your special day and an opportunity to showcase jewellery that really showcases your style. Pearls are popular because they complement the tones of a wedding dress and can be found in a variety of styles from classic ropes of pearls to modern settings on simple chains. If you prefer something sparkly, diamonds really are a girl’s best friend or why not accessorise with stunning pieces in your birthstone or a colour to match the bridesmaids’ dresses? Blue topaz, aquamarine and sapphires are the perfect way of finding your something blue!
