With cooler temperatures and richer colours of nature, autumn is made for rustic weddings! More and more couples are opting for an intimate barn wedding at this time of year – and we can tell why. The cosy atmosphere, fairy lights and exposed wooden beams create the perfect backdrop for your big day. As we have just launched our converted barn as a wedding venue option on the estate; we are super excited to share our favourite rustic wedding ideas.

First, lets talk about the venue. You’ll want to choose somewhere with a warm, cosy feel with beautiful surroundings to maximise your photo opportunities. Think traditional flagstone floors, a canopy of exposed wooden beams, wood burning stoves and stone walls to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for you and your guests. Outside the barn, you’ll find manicured lawns, Victorian walled gardens and 66 acres of farm land. The perfect backdrop to create wonderful memories.

Decorating your venue for a rustic wedding could not be easier as the venue itself can be the backdrop to your wedding theme which means minimal additional decoration is required. We have put together three looks that we LOVE to give you some inspiration for your rustic barn wedding.

Pastel Floral x Rustic

We LOVE these simple tree-bark centerpieces with twinkling candlesticks, confetti and flowers. The twinkling candles create a warm, inviting atmosphere in the cosy barn. Decorate your tables with minimalist tableware, floral name cards and menus. Wedding stationary doesn’t need to be fancy when you’re holding a rustic wedding – and you can always cut costs by hand painting your own with watercolours. The pretty floral and rustic style compliments the neutral barn perfectly.

Greenery x Rustic

This year, the Pantone colour of the year is Greenery and greens have been big this year! Adding foliage and leaves to your table pieces are a lovely touch and add to the rustic feel of the venue. We love the wooden textures against greenery, but you can simply swap bark for rose gold accessories for a more elegant look. This look can be recreated on a budget by bringing the outdoors in and styling your bridal look with a simple leafy crown.

Luxe x Rustic

Think you can’t add a touch of luxury to a barn wedding? Think again! Style your table centerpieces with gold-plated accessories, tea light holders, coloured mason jars and confetti for a touch of elegance. The cute mini-present boxes are a fabulous touch to make your guests feel extra special, and creating your own mini flags for guests can help to cut costs. Tie the look together with strips of organza tied to the back of chairs, fairy lights and confetti – effortless!
