We are looking for a qualified (minimum RHS Level 2), experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated ‘Gardener’ to join the team at Old Down Estate.

The extensive grounds are an instrumental part of our business and are the backdrop to everything that takes place at Old Down, it is, therefore, essential that they are maintained to the highest standard at all times.

Our team of Gardeners are responsible for maintaining the 66-acre site including a walled garden, vegetable garden, rose garden, spa garden, lawns and extensive parkland. The Gardens are such an important part of the Park and add to the overall enjoyment of all of our customers and guests.

This is a casual contract (we anticipate 45 hours from April to October and 35 hours from November to March) and paid up to £9.50/hour (dependent on experience). Our estate’s team work out in all weathers and the appropriate clothing is supplied to enable this. It is essential that you are a team player who is self-motivated, has a keen eye for detail with a great work ethic. You will be joining a dedicated team that are passionate about horticulture.
