We are also home to many different animals great and small, including; Goats, Alpacas, Highland Cows, Wallabies, Bunnies, Birds and lots more! Fancy a bite to eat? We have an on-site café that serves delicious breakfast and lunch options that you can eat in or takeaway. Plus, our Farm Shop serves drinks, snacks and deli food.

Our Animals

Great and small

We have a range of friendly animals to meet at Old Down, from Pygmy Goats and fluffy Alpacas to cheeky Parrots and Kevin the Peacock.

Make sure to visit Pet's Corner, a courtyard full of small animals like Bunnies, Guinea Pigs and free roaming Chickens! We host Animal Encounters there everyday at 11am-11:30am and 2pm-2:30pm. It's a chance to hold some of our animals and learn all about them from our Animal Keepers!

Our Adventure Park is full of four legged friends like Bentley the Goat and our Mother/Daughter duo Silver and Pepper; our not so little Shetland Ponies. You can purchase animal feed from our Ticket Office or Café and hand feed them. They're super friendly and absolutely love grass pellet treats! There are also some extra animals fields towards our lake where our resident Highland Cows graze.

Adventure Play

For all ages and stages

Embark on a journey of endless exploration and excitement. Designed to ignite the imaginations of young adventurers, our park is an adventure play haven where children of all ages can unleash their creativity, curiosity and boundless energy.

For our younger visitors, we have a designated Toddler Area. They can dig in the sandpit, bounce to new heights on the trampoline and play to their hearts content in the playhouses and big wooden tractor.

For the bold and adventurous souls, our Adventure Park awaits! Soar through the air on our zip wire and for those who dare to defy gravity, climb aboard our bespoke climbing frames made in 2022 and sourced from sustainable wood. But perhaps the biggest thrill of all awaits on our enormous jumping pillow, where kids can bounce, leap to the highest heights!

Our Mud Kitchen and Potting Shed is the perfect place to get hands dirty and creativity flowing. We’ve got pots, pans and watering cans.

Gardens

Acres of natural beauty

Discover the landscape of Old Down, where nature’s beauty flourishes in every corner. From our Victorian Walled Garden that is home to our pergola walkway and Kitchen Garden, to our orchard where we grow apples and pears in the Summer.

Our Manor has its very own Rose Garden, full of different vibrant colours and defined hedges. Its Willow trees make for some stunning wedding photos and there’s lots of little paths and passageways to find and explore. Venture past the lake and wander through our very own wood.

Beyond our formal gardens, our grounds stretch out in all directions, inviting you to explore and discover the wonders of nature; including meadows, woodlands and trail paths. During the school holidays, you can get lost (and found) in our Taxus Baccata maze.

There's no such thing as a silly question so please, don't hold back, get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.

There's 66 acres of wide open space that’s full of things to see and do, so we’ve created a map showing you the layout of our lovely park - with signposts of all the activities and venues.
